About Us
The Department of Applied Computing and Electronics offers flexible programs leading to immediate employment and matriculation to higher degrees for students, and professional development for practitioners in the field. Degree and Certificate programs include Computer Systems Support, Information Technology, Electronics Technology, and Energy Technology. We are a Cisco Regional Training Center and a member of the Computer Technology Industry Association.The Department is a unit of the College of Technology at The University of Montana in Missoula.
Mission Statement
The Department of Applied Computing and Electronics of The University of Montana, College of Technology collaborates with business and industry to prepare graduates to compete in and contribute to a diverse, dynamic global society. Students engage in experiential learning embracing technical education, effective communication, problem solving, professionalism, and workplace skills. The Department promotes life-long learning to empower students in an ever-changing world.

Local Advisory Committees
Advisory committees composed of local leaders in their respective fields exist for all programs. These committees meet regularly to provide input and feedback on objectives, curriculum, industry trends, and career opportunities. Advisory committees are a valuable resource in the planning and support of our programs.
