Student Advising

Students should plan on seeing an advisor early each semester to be prepared for the following semester prior to the opening of registration on Cyberbear.

To have a successful advising appointment, you should bring the following items:

  1. Advising Checklist (This provides you with an idea of what you have completed so far in your academic program and what courses remain to be done.)
    Computer Aided Design (C.A.S.)
    Computer Support (C.A.S.)
    Information Technology (A.A.S.)
    Electronics Technology (A.A.S.) Fall 2011 or earlier entry

    Electronics Technology (A.A.S.) Spring 2012 or later entry

    Energy Technology (A.A.S.)
  2. Unofficial Transcript (This is available through Cyberbear.)
  3. Test Scores - Writing and Mathematics courses use an assessment-based placement system. All new students must have the results from Math & Writing Placements Exams prior to enrolling in these content areas. Further information on the Writing Assessment Exam and the ALEKS Mathematics Assessment process is available at:

Faculty Advisors

Faculty in our department offer individualized advising services to students during their scheduled office hours.

Group Advising

The Applied Computing and Electronics (ACE) Department offers group advising sessions every week throughout the semester. Current and incoming students are welcome. Group advising will begin in October.

Distance Advising
